A new parkrun proposed for Stanley
Plans are moving forward for a potential new parkrun event in Stanley, which could see another regular 5km route added to the County Durham network.
Organisers are currently assessing the feasibility of hosting the event at Oakey Park, with early groundwork already in place.

According to organisers, landowner permission has been granted, and discussions are taking place regarding funding support from Durham County Council.
If approved, the event would operate as part of the parkrun network, offering a free, weekly, timed 5km run open to all abilities.
